What three words?

What three words?

What legacy do you want to leave?

Imagine with me for a moment that you are 90 years old, in good health, and have a sharp mind.

You are on a family vacation. Kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids are everywhere. As you watch the activity around you, you are inwardly smiling because the fruit of your intentional legacy is all around you.

You took the time to teach your family the principles and values that really matter. You did your best to transfer God’s wisdom and you even created family stories and legends to help transfer this wisdom.

Now these stories are told from generation to generation. These stories are what make your family unique, strong, and able to withstand the ups and downs of our world.

One of the things you did many years before was you picked three powerful words that would represent what your family stood for. These words became your family’s brand and reputation – the guiding words that help each family member make crucial life decisions.

You even took the time to create family stories around each of the words. Stories that have now been passed down from generation to generation.

As you are sitting on the porch of your vacation home, you hear two of the great-grandkids talking. They are second cousins from two different parts of the country, and they see each other only once a year.

The older one, 12 years old, starts talking to the 9-year-old. He says, “Do you know the story of what our family stands for?” The 9-year-old says, “Yes, but tell it to me again.”

Now you are smiling with a grateful heart as you hear the three words that make up your legacy.

Question: What are your three words?
