Gravy on Top

Dear Friend,

You have heard this expression, or ones like it. It means “a little bit extra.”

In Louisiana Cajun country they call it lagniappe. It’s the bonus, the unexpected.

It’s the cherry on the sundae. The handwritten thank you note.

It amazes me how many of us like to receive the little bit extra, but so few of us actually give the little bit extra. (Hey, I am looking in the mirror on this one!)

One of my friends, Bill Porter, told me how a roofing company he worked with did a little bit extra. Bill would knock on the doors of the houses surrounding the home where the new roof was going in and say:ฒฝยฬ

"We are putting a new roof on your neighbor’s house. Our crew cleans the yard and sweeps for nails five times a day. Here is my phone number. If any trash comes into your yard, call me and we will clean it up. If you get a flat tire in the next two weeks for any reason, call me and we will pay for it."

That’s it. A little bit extra. The unexpected. Proactive. I would love to hear how you give “a little extra” at your company or business. Just reply and let me know – and it just may show up in a future Zignificance email.

Oh, and we teach business owners how to provide a “little bit extra” as part of their business systems. Check out our Ziglar Business Owner Bootcamp right here: https://www.ziglar.com/lifechanging-programs/businessownerbootcamp. I would love to see you in June at Ziglar HQ – seeing you in person, now that would be lagniappe!

You are Born To Win, so go ahead and Live To Win!

Tom

P.S. Today is Day 13 of my 66 Days Gratitude Journey. Today I am grateful for Mother’s Day, worship music, and massages (thank you, Kristin!).
