What are you transferring?

What are you transferring?

I have a confession to make. I have about as much facial expression as a rock. My face "excited" and my face "sad" look almost the same, which is to say they both look like more normal face.

On the other side of the coin, Conia Wright, who is one of our team members, has facial expressions that put the bright lights of the billboards in Times Square in New York City to shame. From a hundred feet away I can watch her read a text message and know exactly how she feels about every word in the text.

Here is the challenge - no matter what side of the coin you are on, you must realize that what you are sending out is being picked up and you must take this into account. When I speak, I have to work on my facial expressions and body language. If I don't, people will wrongly think I don't care and they will not take action.

How about you? Could it be that what you are saying is not being heard because of what people are seeing?

Here are three great quotes for you to consider:

If you are in sales:

"Selling is a transference of feeling." -Zig Ziglar

Do people know that you love and value your product or service? Can they feel your passion for what you do?

If you are a speaker:

"Speaking is a transference of conviction." -Jason Frenn

When you take the stage as a trainer or speaker, the greatest thing you can do is transfer your conviction about your subject.

If you are a coach:

"Coaching is a transference of confidence." -David Wright

Coaching is about drawing out the potential within someone and transferring the confidence that the person has what it takes.

What do you do? What do you need to transfer as a mom, dad, leader, or coworker? Identify it. Develop it. Transfer it.

You are Born To Win, so go ahead and Live To Win,
